What is the
​"Rule of Green Thumb"?

A green thumb refers to a natural ability to grow plants and a rule-of-thumb refers to a principle that may be inaccurate or unreliable. Combining the two idioms is a way of saying that gardening is an inexact science. ​

I want everyone to love gardening as much as I do - to know the joy of eating a tomato grown from seed or seeing a tree grow from a seedling to a mature specimen. I was fortunate to grow up in a gardening family, recognize the mental and physical benefits of gardening early on in life, and see the opportunity to work in horticulture.
